True Craftsman-Style Master Bedroom
It was important to the owners to create a comforting and relaxing space for their bedroom. With very busy careers, they needed a hideaway to rest and rejuvenate. In order to make it the most functional space possible, we chose to design and build a master suite that includes a full walk-in closet and complete master bathroom with private water closet. The entire suite is optimized to make things as easy and comfortable as possible, but the master bedroom is the heart of it all.
Creating an Open Space
Most of this true craftsman is built around an open concept so the owners wanted to make sure their bedroom felt equally as open. In order to maximize the space, we included a 12 foot tall cathedral ceiling that adds both incredible height and depth to the space. Two tall windows frame the king size bed and let in a lot of light. Each window in the room is framed with a traditional exterior craftsman frame design and includes a delicate upper interior frame that mirrors the other windows throughout the home. A built-in linen cabinet saves on space and adds a custom look to the room. A modern, three-blade ceiling fan accentuates the cathedral ceiling while a custom window seat adds space and structure to the room.
Getting the Details Right
Along with creating a comfortable space, it also needed to be functional. The entire bedroom is wired with Control 4 speakers so the owners can control the surround sound with their smartphones. Recessed overhead lighting with dimming capabilities help to customize the environment while a mounted flat screen tv provides entertainment. With room for additional seating and a direct route to the walk in closet and master bathroom, this beautiful master bedroom truly has it all.
