ELKHORN NEW ENTRYWAY / EXTERIOR REMODEL
A FULLY RENOVATED EXTERIOR
This 1972 two-story lake home needed a lot of help to bring its exterior back to life. Settled on 257’ of frontage with shoreline wrapping from Mill Lake into Turtle Cove providing a quiet and serene setting, this home was ready for some TLC. Combining key design elements from a traditional lake home with a modern farmhouse aesthetic, the resulting exterior makes a chic and inviting statement.
Creating New Entryways
The original layout wasted a lot of space with a large stairwell and an odd side entry. Because we couldn’t increase the footprint due to the rare bird sanctuary and shoreline, we had to get creative with the internal structure. We moved the entryway to the front of the home, building out a spacious and welcoming foyer and entrance.
A New Covered Porch
We added custom cedar brackets and beams to create a beautiful and functional covered porch to the front of the home. We added a touch of modern with a black cable railing system that creates a dramatic contrast to the white board and baton exterior. All new windows with matte black trim set off the exterior and create a perfect focal point for the newly landscaped yard.
