Lisbon Whole Home Remodel
This project began with a 180-year-old home in Southeastern Wisconsin. The lumber used to construct the foundation and the stonework around the fireplace were all original to the first build. As you can imagine, 180 winter seasons and spring melts had certainly taken a toll. Renz Construction was careful to hold true to the original construction while adding modern elements to complement the historic space during this whole home remodel.
Our carpenters spent a lot of time building several custom features by hand. These customized features included new cabinetry and a custom-designed and built kitchen island for the new kitchen, new milled library shelves for the fireplace room, custom stairs throughout the home, and in-house designed storage benches under the windows. The kitchen, living room, and dining area were finished with hand-scraped bamboo flooring to accentuate the new space while holding true to the overall natural aesthetic of the home.
To add convenience and a touch of the modern, we added all new Andersen Windows and Therma-Tru exterior doors throughout the home. This project marries time-tested construction techniques with modern materials to create a beautiful and functional home.
